Fix things by hand
Every file the studio makes can be opened and fixed. You get the tools that belong to that file, and nothing else.
Open a file
Click any file in a stage.
Some files are there to read — page notes, a sound plan. Those open with an eye: the file, its notes, and its history.
Files you can change open with a pen and a row of tools on the left.
Pictures
Pages, panels and finished artwork. Next to the picture you see its notes (what the plan step wrote — you can change them, and this is where you bring back a dropped panel) and its history (every change, so you can go back).
The tools you get depend on which step made the file:

- Select
- The normal cursor.
- Paint
- One brush. What it does depends on where you use it. On a panel from Find Speech Bubbles it removes a speech bubble. On finished artwork it marks the part you want redrawn.
- Crop
- Cut a border, or a piece of the next panel, off the edge of a panel.
- Gen Fill
- Paint over the part that is wrong, say what should be there, and it redraws only that part. See Generative Fill.
- Clone
- Copy one part of the picture over another part. Free, fast, and it cannot invent anything. Best when the right answer is “more of the wall next to it”.
- Try a Style
- Paint this one panel in a style, to see it before you run the whole folder.
Art files have no Paint or Crop on purpose. Cropping would undo the frame the studio just set, and painting anime lines with a mouse does not work well. In the Art stage you point a tool at an area instead.
Scripts
Your script as a list of lines with times. Rewrite a line, change its timing, move lines, switch the whole script between narration and dialogue, and mark it as the video script.
Clips
Play, go to the next or the last shot, and trim the start and the end. To fix a clip, watch it, say what is wrong, and click Fix this shot. The new clip takes the place of the old one, and you can go back.
Voices
One sound file for each line, so one bad reading is one thing to fix. Open it and say it again. The new one lands in the same place, in the same voice.
Going back
History is kept for each file. Every hand change and every new version is a row you can return to. The old version is kept, not thrown away.
